I took my drive guard off of my trailer over the weekend. It took about 10 minutes (8 bolts) to take off. I think that I'll leave it off until winter.

Should I leave it off or put it back on? It's 4 miles to the ramp from my storage building. I was thinking that I would just put it back on for long trips, what would you all do???

Yea, they put two sets of brake/tail lights and cross member lights on it. You can see that in the pics. Those led lights really light up!!

I'd reinstall it and leave it on there. Especially with having it parallel parked like that on your narrow street on rare occaisions. People will be come fixated on it, and drive right into it. It happens down here all the time. As long as you have no clearance issues where you park, I'd leave it on all the time.

I'd also suggest a second tongue jack. It significantly reduces trailer twist when the boat resting on the jack, and makes it much easier to crank up the boat; as well as being a lot more stable.
American Truck and Trailer in Manassas is where I picked up my identical second one.

What is it that they say....."most accidents happen within 5-10 miles from home"?
