Ford 350 4x4 Dually - need front brake help

2000 350 4x4 Dually, front pads and rotors are real tired.

I've got the caliper off, and the 8 inner bolts off that appear to hold on the rotor assy to the hub. I've also removed a "C" clip that goes between the outer rotor sleeve and the auto/lock switch assy. Oh yeah, it has auto locking hubs.

How do I get the rotor off? I've tried cracking it loose from the 8 inner lugs by jacking up the outer flange with a floor jack, but it just lifted up the front end. Tried prying with a 2x4, but no luck, either.

What am I missing?

Thanks,
Brian

You might want to try www.thedieselstop.com

There's a load of Ford info there. Just register and search the forums, you'll find something. I gotta do the same thing myself sometime. If you find a thread, post a link here so I can see also :)

Good call. After some searching, they suggested using some good penetrating oil, and bang on the spacer from the inside of the flange with a BFH. That worked,

Then I had to just wiggle the rotor off side-to-side with a couple of big screw drivers in the rotor vents in the center.

No hub disassembly was required. Cool.

Now I have to find somewhere to see if they can be turned down.

Thanks for the tip!

Hey Brian I met you at the metro park ramp about 6 weeks ago I had the 32 Baja. I can cut your rotors and blast and paint your caliper slides. The rotors on your truck are hard to get cut without run out and chatter do them all the time and can do them at night for you. If interested call me I am in Newport 734-586-0448.

Thanks Brian, but too late. I'm just on my way to pick them up. There's a local parts store near me that has a full service machine shop, and the guy running the machines looks like he's been doing this for 30 years.

Hopefully I'll have everything back together tonight. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Cheers,
Brian
