New Boat, New Truck?
 

I want to pull a Donzi 38ZR, approximate dry weight of 9,200# plus a myco tri axle trailer.

Is a Ford F350 Superduty with the 6.0 Diesel up to the task. I don't want to buy a dually unless I absolutely have to.

I had a single wheel truck and then went to a dually, the biggest difference is that you will love the stability that the dually offers. It is HUGE difference. I only tow a 35ft FOUNTAIN on a Myco and would be had pressed to tow/buy anything but a dually!!!!!!!!just mu .02................BZ

That truck will be fine as long as you have a signifcant wheelbase. If you have a standard cab with either bed, or a short bed and extended cab; you are going to have some sway, and want a longer truck. Any other configuration should be fine, but I HIGHLY recommend rear airbag suspension helpers. Best $300 (installed) you can add to ANY truck.

I have seen older 350 single wheels tow more than that. So the new 350 will be just fine. Like stated above the longer the truck the better. True the dually will be more stable, but with what you want to do you don't really need it.

We pull our 35 fountain with a 05 crew cab dually. Tried it with a F 250 PS with a moderate lift and it was a no go up tight hills. Love the dually, stability is important, plus it may be overkill now, but you can pull something bigger later. Just thought i would throw that out there

I don't know about the single rear wheels but I had issues at the ramp with my dually. Late in the season I had issues with pine straw and could not get enough traction. It was pretty embarrassing when my wife had to hook a tow strap to her BMW 5 series wagon to pull me out. I just replaced my '01 F350 2x4 dually with a '05 F350 4x4 dually. I really did not want the 4x4 but found that those few times a year were all that was needed to make me want to switch. I tow a 38 Fountain Fever which is about the same weight as your Donzi. The dually may not be necessary but I really like the stability. I also move equipment and materials around for work and the dually has been great for that.

The SRW F-350 is certainly adequate for pulling your boat. If you are interested, I currently have an 01 F-350 Crew Cab, Single Rear Wheeel, Long bed for sale.
