Re: '03 F250 - 6.0 Powerstroke help

I've been lucky w/ mine. 26k trouble free miles to date. I run high HP to it with turbo back exhaust and an intake system. It gets drag raced on occasion when I get the urge. The only thing I don't like about it is the payment. To date it is the best truck I have ever owned. This coming from someone that has NEVER owned a Ford before in his life.

As for the 03 being the stepchild for Ford.....I have experienced more buy backs w/ the 05s than I have the 03s. Don't know why. I think you either get a good one or a bad one. My partner buys one to two new trucks a year. Had better luck with his 03 than he did his 05. I'm saying all this to say that I truly feel it's not just that year model that you will have problems with.

My partner is begging me to sell him my truck right now. I wouldn't part with it for anything at this point in time. Just too good of a truck IMO.

I wouldn't be scared of it. If you want to get rid of it, I will be glad to take it on trade. I think you got a good deal. The King Ranch is really a nice truck.

Flyer, you NEED to buy my '03 7.3 Lariat Dually 2wd, grey/silver/grey leather, and i'm not ****ting you here, not one scratch in it...

I'm in Miami, this is THE best Ford truck i've had yet, but I need a 4wd, my new truck will be here any day, mine has 22,400 one owner miles, babied and maintained to the max, ALWAYS stored inside a warehouse. Pulls like a raped ape. I hate like hell trading it in, you will NOT find a cleaner '03 in So Fla and I personally guarantee it. MINT interior. I don't smoke, and don't allow smokers in it. Never been in for warranty work, ever. Dealer gave me 27.5k on trade-in, and he KNOWS what I have here... Match it and it's yours... You won't regret buying this truck. I'll leave the $400 Diablo programmer in it, $1800 Garrett GT40 ball bearing turbo, $100 bed mat, and $200 tonneau cover, and $400 HID headlights. Has newer Michelin's, and EVERY option, not a single squeak, rattle, or wiggle, or blemish. Trued, and strobe balanced all 6 tires. I pull my 12,000# 28' enclosed race trailer like nothing, and I also have 3 boats, including a 302 Scarab. Rotella oil changes every 3,500 miles, and only Ford oil filters.
You absolutely do NOT want a '03 6.0, no matter what, I work on diesels for a living, been doing it for 34 years... trust me on this... call me if you want a PERFECT truck.

I would go to a fealer and get the history on this truck thru the VIN, most 03s had problems, some you could fix, others were buy backs and hit the auction market. I bet he paid 18-20 for it. I went with the 7.3 for my 03, i just didn't want to be the ginny pig. 86,000 now and not a problem yet.

We service a ton of these. They are good engines. Like every american made vehicle there is a percentage of "problem issues". I personally think is a very good engine. If you love the truck and it's a good deal go pick up your truck, then buy an extended warranty. If it keeps leaking, let it run low on oil, blow up and they give you a brand new "0" mile engine!!

I have almost 50,000 miles on my 03 6.0 with no problems at all. Best truck I ever owned and I'm pro GM. I tow a lot and drive hard, no oil leaks and no rough idle. More power than the 7.3 we used to haul with but the fuel mileage could be better. Only getting and average of 17mpg, would like to add a chip to improve mileage. Overall wouldn't trade the truck for anything.

Damn Jim. I wish I would have known. I had been toying around with the idea of buying a diesel but Sunday decided to call my dad's friend at Maroone. They had an '04 F350 Crew Cab with 36k for 28000. It was such an incredible deal that I drove down there. Ofcourse they had just sold it. I got pissed and went to my local Ford dealership and found this truck. I'll see what they tell me today. If it's not fixed by this afternoon I'm not going to do the deal. The mechanic told me it was probably a (dont remember) valve on the top of the motor. Like I said I don't know crap about diesels so we'll see. I appreciate the offer and will probably know by the end of the day.
