Trailer *West Coast*

Need a trailer on the West coast, California. Looking for an aluminum trailer at this point. Tired of rusting inside tubes on the one I have. Also want to go with torsion bars and disc brakes. 29' Vee single engine hull. Looking at these MFG so far.

TechSun Trailers - Texas
Hi-Tech marine trailers - Florida.
Allison Hi-Tech?
Not sure I can swing the price of a manning or myco and not much to choose from that I have found on West coast.

Some of the West coast customs want to galvanize and paint for a new one but I am hesitant to do any trailer boxed again that I can not see what is going on inside. Maintaining paint is a pain also.

Any options as to MFG or what to look out for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Don't count out Manning without getting a price. I am pleased with my Manning aluminum trailer.

Pacific builds a pretty nice trailer and I think they are in Long Beach or somewhere close to there. They are box steel but they are completly sealed and have a valve stem and pressure guage so you can keep it under about 10 pounds of pressure as long as you make sure there is air pressure in it when you dunk it water can't get in, and no they don't float.

Mannings (BG111 very nice set-up) and Pacifics are very nice and great quality.
There also is a guy in tomball,tx called instigator trailers that built mine for my 31 Cig...Monster 7.5 I-beam triple axle aluminum w/ disc brakes, torsion suspension...had a minor issue when I bought new earlier in the year...the owner stepped up and deliveried me (swapped-out)a new one(yes tx to NorCal) on Fathers day to
right-a-wrong...stand up owner and very resonable price and stood in front and behind his product:
instigatortrailers.com. or 18006207857.

If price is not a issue...MYCO does delivery also :D

Thanks for all the leads on trailers I do appreciate it.

During my search the question keeps coming up am I sure I want torsion axles? I should probably start another thread but are you guys happy with your torsion axles? How is the ride compared to leafs? I am being told by some that torsion bars axles will not ride over the rough roads as well as leafs. Also tire wear is an issue. Any truth to these stories?

torsion all the way for me, that way each wheel is sprung weight, and if you cut too close on a corner each wheel will ride the curb alone. best option imho.

Re: Trailer *West Coast*

had leaf springs on dual axles and never a problem, but the weight and prone to corrosion always was a topic for me.
I like the idea that each wheel is sprung independently on the torsion and I gotta beleive that it is a lighter set up. Leafs do look more beafy but like the clean look of torsion.
Wear, don't know, I don't trailer much anymore, < a mile to ramp with occasional runs to the SF bay (150 miles).
So far, I am happy with choice-time will tell. :D

Good luck!

I have an Ameri Trail (St. Cloud, FL) for my 29 Velocity that I really like. It is aluminum that is powder-coated to match the boat with torsion axles. I probably have about 10,000 miles on it now and couldn't be happier with it.

I bought a trailer from Hi-Tech earlier this year and am very pleased with it. Allison Hi-Tech buys their trailers from them and puts their stickers on them

Great trailer, great price!!

I'm having a Techsun built for my Thoroughbred - Velocity right now. All welded bunk supports and 16" wheels. Check them out.
