7.3 chip upgrade
 

Just bought 2002 f350 with 7.3 diesel,I need info on computer reprogramming,Will mileage increase or just power?I have owned 3 diesels and I never played with them.I have heard gains up to 150hp but im more concerned with milage.My on board computer on all three trucks reads about the same 14.1 or 14.3 so what do you think?

Edge advertises 25 to 75 hp gains and 200 ft/lbs of torque depending on what mode you are running in, but if you ask any of my customers they will tell you that 75hp seems a bit conservative because the gains seem a lot more than that.

Every kit that we have sold has resulted in an increase in mileage and on average it has been 1.5 to 3 mpg depending on how you drive the truck and what mode you run the truck in.

I installed the Diablo reprogramer. It gives you a choice of 3 upgrades,or you can change back to factory specs. I went with the 60hp economy tune. I got 5more mpg out of that and a few more when I switched to 34" tires (from 32") and had the speedo recalibrated. I'm at 22.5 all miles and 14 when I tow my 9000# boat. 2002, 7.3 SRW. I also have a K&N air filter. stock exhaust

I ran the banks big hoss chip on my 7.3 125 hp and around 2mpg gain. Put over 110,000 on the truck and only one problem... Had to adjust the prongs on the chip, lost contact.. By they way the chip was on the truck from 3,000. But with that much power you have to add a better exhaust system. I ran the bigger exhaust for two weeks before the chip and had about 1 mpg from that. with 4.10 gears after everything I was seeing 16.5 to 17.5 depending on my driving habit. This was dually
