Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
For my new 2006 F-350 Short Bed truck. Does anyone know who sells these and how much they are? The P/N: for 1999-2005 F-350 SB is: 107. I'm assuming that this will work for a 2006 Short box?
Does anyone on OSO sell they covers? www.rollnlock.com Thanks, Dean |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
They are pretty high, around $1000.
I bought my truck used and it had one on it. It is very sweet, I wouldnt have bought one before having one, but after having it and using it, I will buy one on the next truck. |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
You might also take a look at this Roll Top Cover, I have had one for 4 years or so, and it still works as new. It was pricey, but I would buy another one. It seems well built.
I don't know anyone who sells covers and I have no interest in this company. Just my experience. Bill |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
Thanks guys, still looking for a dealer to quote me $$. :D

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I got my roll and lock at Ideal Automotive in Ft Lauderdale. Was like $900+ tax. The roll and lock corporation is on Andrews Ave in Ft Lauderdale as well.
Covers leak in rear corners (tailgate) due to design flaw but other than that they are nice. Any thief with a pair of channel locks can break into the thing, not as secure as you would think. Install looked like a pain(even for guys that do it everyday!) so I would have it done professionally. |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....

Dean,
You have a PM. Buck |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I have been looking also. I did some research.
This is the one I think I will buy. It is pricey, but it is awesome. Locks every 12". Tension driven for easy open/close. Warranty is 2 yrs. It will support up to 500lbs!! Finish is powdercoated. www.truckcoversusa.com The Roll-N-Lock can't hold the weight, but has Haartz marine grade Vinyl over the aluminum slats....this is good if you live in cold, wet weather because the slats can freeze from the wet weather and will not open. The bad thing is that the vinyl can peel off. www.rollnlock.com FOR THE MONEY, THIS IS THE BARGAIN!! Here's a nice, but cheaper model. This one is $499.00. It is also powdercoated. The panels can be removed to replace one if you damage it, instead of buying a whole new cover! http://www.peragon.com/?gclid=CPC36Y...FTZqDgodNHafdw |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
Buck,
Thanks for the info. I trying to get a quote to get it installed. Can you give me a SWAG on install $$ if you were going to install it? I really don't have the time to mess with installing it myself. Semper, Lots of choices aren't there!? What is the $$ of truck cover usa cover? I went to their website, but couldn't find any $$ info. What truck are you going to install your cover on, when you decide on which one! :D Thanks, Dean |

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
Dean,
Installation prices will vary depending on location, local economy, and how one values their time. My time may be worth more or less than the next person. I have a feeling a shop in your neck of the woods would probably charge more than I would. If you came into my shop and asked me to install the cover I would charge $100-$150 for the install. Hope that helps. Buck |

I can also have them do the install. I don't have the time or patience to do it. I know that it is harder to install these bedliners than they say it is....and you wouldn't want to make a misstake on a brand new truck! |

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I also found out something important!!
1. Covers that have a vinyl coating like the Roll-N-Lock my not protect your truck cargo very well. ....the "slats" or metal peices that are linked together to make the cover are connceted with a polyeurothane plastic. This means you can cut through the vinyl, then cut through the slats also and get into the cover. 2. Make sure you get a lock for your tailgate (Ford and Doge I believe have locking tailgates) because a theif can just open your tailgate and steal your stuff, even if the bed cover is locked!! |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I have a hard shell with lock that over hangs the tailgate and the tail gate lock (Ford). If someone wants in, it takes almost no effect to break in. It'll help to keep the snoopers out, but not a thief.

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I would not like to have to open my cover every time I open my tailgate, nor would I bother locking a vinyl cover. I would rather a thief not cut through it.

So Gerald, What are you going with? I'm getting to the point of data overload! :D It's a given that you and I won't need the protection against Freezing the slats together in the Roll n Lock, but I'm kinda bummed about it not being as secure as I was hoping it would be! It's making me think about getting a Topper! BTW, thanks for jumping on board on this thread and doing all this data mining! Dean |

He will give you OSO prices on the Pace Edwards Covers |
Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I sell both the pace edwards jackrabbit and the roll and lock. Each has one with a metal finish and a vinyl covered finish. I'll post what we can do on them. The pace edwards is easier to install and they just dropped a bit. The roll and lock I can do for 820 , the pace edwards , jackrabbit vinyl like the roll and lock is 850 , they have a hard metal top too. Their roll top , like the roll and lock is 800 . They are all close in price. Pace has the best warranty ane we install more of them. All are in stock but the bad news is shipping. Definatly truck freight. I'd have to call the trucking co for a quote on these. Look at the pace , www.pace-edwards.com. They also make a actuator to lock and unlock your tailgate w door locks and factory keless entry. No drilling into the tailgate like the roll and lock.

I was leaning towards the Truck Cover USA model. (www.truckcoversusa.com) They are built in San Diego, so very close to my home. You can actually put 500lbs of weight on this cover!!!! It is tough. I also like the Pace-Edwards Bedlocker. It basically has the same features, but has a 3 yr warranty (best warranty out there) and it open/closed by remote control!! It is pretty trick! You are right, we don't have to worry about the weather, so I don't want the vinyl. The vinyl needs to be treated also, or it will dry (like leather) after some time. It also can peel after a while. |

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
I was getting crazy numbers for the shipping. I looked on my buying group web site and they ship it for a flat fee $110 but the price was a bit more. They do have a dealer locator and I found 2 dealers within 30 miles of you! They should do the web price which was like 929 . If you call them they may even install too. Check it out and you can avoid the shipping! www.driverfx.com . Wish I was in fl and I'd hook you right up. There are dealers in cali too for semper fi! Instead I'm freezing out in the garage building my motors to get the scarab going!

Re: Looking @ the "Roll and Lock" bed cover ....
