03 F-250 Head light switch snaps off

I wouldn't ask but happened twice - the head light control snapped off, is this happening to others? 1st time was covered by warranty but thats gone, they had to replace the unit not just stick on a new plastic piece. I figured was a defective part even though the tech denied he had seen happen before. I'm not pulling the driving lights on (barely ever use them) plastic just seems to break.

My 2000 has the same problem, whole unit needs to be replaced, I turned the switch upside down (so the white dot is pointed to the floor) and stuck it back on. It's been on now for 2 years that way. I had forgotten about it until you brought it up.

My wifes explorer did the same thing, I just superglued the plastic piece back on the knob and it's been fine for 2 years now..
