Hitch upgrade
I just ordered a putnam XDR hitch for my 06 2500 HD chevy.
I am looking for advice on the mount for the trailer light connection. I want a clean look like the factory set-up not some back yard after thought. Any advice would be appreciated. Jeff |

Re: Hitch upgrade
Check out http://www.jetconnex.com/ They've got the connectors and the coiled connector wire. Boaters World and West sell them but best way to putrchase is on-line. The stores only have limited choices of setup combo's.

Re: Hitch upgrade
I'll will try to get some info for you tomorrow off of www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com . I opted to use my same factory connector, and drilled it into the factory Avalanche bumper (with cladding) to the left of the license plate. It works well, but no room for error when you have a steel bumper. Several folks who have moved theirs to the bumper are using a new piece that has the round connector as well as a 4-pin flat connector. It looks very proper on the bumper.

Re: Hitch upgrade
Cut a hole in your bumper and mount it there. I did it in my Tahoe and it looked factory when I was done.
