air suspension expedition 1998
I have a 1998 expedition that I use to tow my 260 sonic. The rear sits a little lower than I would like so I am thinking of adding an air suspension to the rear coil spring setup to level out the vehicle when towing. Has anyone installed one of these? Pros/cons costs how much trouble if you do it yourself? I have looked at the kit from Firestone anyone familiar with it?

Re: air suspension expedition 1998
Firestone Ride-Rite and the Air-Lift 1000 are almost the same. I had the Airlift 1000s installed by a buddy/OSO member in Culpeper, VA on my last two trucks for about $300 w/o compressor. (I think you are in VA right?)
Shoot me a PM if I can be of more assistance. I don't see ANY cons to having the system. It basically acts as an ajustable anti-roll bar when you are not towing as well. Make sure you install with separate air fills for each side/airbag to keep from an unsafe situation of load shift/air pressure shift in a turn, etc. |
