Nice wheels! Still trying to make a decision. I plan to go with 265 Revo's. I had great luck with them on my 01. I was thinking about the expensive Weld EVO's because of the 5 year chrome warranty. I'd leave them on in the winter. I'm sure they would be replacing my wheels every other year. :D

done the REVO's... fantastic tire.

The Panther is an 18 & 20" wheel only.

Why not do 17's Dan? The REVO is available in a 265/70-17 that's just a little taller in dia. and a 1/2" or so wider section width than the 265/75-16. With the right offset wheel (see above) that would be a good setup for stance/ asthetics.

I cosidered this program and looked closely at it. Alot of choices in wheels too...

since i'm sure you'll know this, if i can't find what i'm looking for how late can I order an'06?

Cutoff was Fri 4/7. :( for you bud....

Old(present) body style '07's will be available to order in 3-4 weeks, with expected July deliveries.

Problem is, it appears no "Classics" (OBS build '07's) will be built w/Dmax.

The truck I posted that burned was a '99 GMC Sierra "Classic" (OBS) built from overage while they finished tooling up for the present body-style build '99's...

You better find one pronto that you can live with. It looks as though there may be a 5-6 month gap w/no Dmaxes coming to market!

That should clean up the used market pretty well...

I'd stick with the black. Pull off the bumpers and have them PC'd gloss black, and go with some big wheels. It will look awesome. Mine is in this transformation now.

Update:

off with the black bodyside moulding

in with the body-color handles and bezels

on with front door window tint.

Also have put on Lund Avenger bugshield, my Putnam XDR, bedmat, and tailgate cover.

while I had the door panels off for the handles, I put in four 6 3/4 Kenwood 3 ways. They sound excellent. Huge improvement over the stockers

put the astrostart from the '04.5 the '06 in this morning also

been a busy couple days. Nice to have a big shop to work in though!

Be aware that there is a new recall on 06 LLY/LBZ concerning the Glow Plug Control module. Your dealer will be able to look up this info with your vin#.

Involves a 20minute reflash of the computer.

If not done and your vin is affected, the glow plugs may come on whilst driving and potentially cause engine damage.

the recall number is 06522 and affects most 06 LLY/LBZ's

Go to here for more info http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73489

Yea I know all about it. I'm a member of dieselplace :D

My build date was a month ago. It was a running change in the glow plug control module. Mine is fine.

Would that be the four legged one seen last season passed out in Ripville ? What Ta He!! you doing talkin trucks, I thought you were looking for a different boat ? You can pull a new boat with an old truck, but don't need a new truck to pull the old boat. BTW Rick has a new 35 Donzi w/ 496's in his showroom with your name on it! As well as a real sharp Black/Silver one that is being rerigged with Vipers.

Spoke to the Senator late this afternoon and he is planning the launch for tomorow.

Rip, My brother just bought a new chevy dually and he took the duramax/allison badges off the side and put them on the rasied part of the hood back by the windsheild on each side.....It looks cool. Just a thought.

By the way.......NICE TRUCK!! :D

Rip, I'd rip off those 4x4 stickers as well as the LT stickers. I also like R'Addiction's idea.

I just picked my bumpers and tread plates up from the PC shop today. ALL black.

Considering that.

Where does it end? I can see me now standing around in the shop, heat gun in hand, looking for more stuck on sh!t to get rid of! :evilb:

IMO I like the drivetrain badges on the doors. It's there or they go too...don't wanna do that. :D

Is the one with Vipers yours, 496s will get you 82-83. Hope the Senator has a good maiden voyage. I remember this guy startin' up in a boat lift not too long ago ..............................don't know what was hotter, the motor or the guy. :evilb:

You will be happy with the Yoko Geolanders, excellent towing tire. I have put them on my Tahoe, 3500HD Chevy and am about ot put them on my 2500HD. Best tire out there for the money IMO.

I cant see what you did with the tailgate. I was going to de-badge the back but like the GMC badge. Ended up removing the horrible sierra badge and putting one of the AllisonDuramax badges in it's place. I also put the 3rd tail light from a 3500hd on. Looks good at night.

Tailgates' clean...no badges, red handle/bezel the "Cheverolet" and "Silverado" look so cheap they had to go.

The Viper boat, not me, but supposedly to remain in the area, some poor fellow with an island. My hull preference still lies a few steps up the alphabet ladder, but the 35 Donzi is a very impressive package. The Viper set up, to me, is a lot of money for the power, lots of WOW factor, but not a real prudent way to get the horsepower.

The Senator has reported to the Other Half that the voyage was successful. Apparently complete with video documentation of the stats. The boiled down version of the conversation, near as I can sort out, is --- 84 MPH/GPS w/30" Bravos @5600RPM, last years props, and 81MPH w/the new 5 blades @5100. Looks like I may need to spend some money, or listen to the Chit all season. Or maybe just get him in some real big water to see what shakes out. May need to adjust the X dimension on the Beak Boat !

Would "Hot" be in reference to the sea water pumps? Lucky that little downpour blew thru and cooled both down. There are days one feels like a "Chit Magnet".

Ragged,
rumour has it Whipple is back in business, quick bolt on way to go by him. Also heard the senator may be attracting more attention this year with the new exhaust choice. WTF, at this point another couple grand for good mufflers can't hurt. Question is, will he do it before or after the ticket. Now thats a video I want to do the backup music for :D Oh, just so Rip doesn't have a kitten about intruding the thread, still haven't pulled the trigger on the truck, still tryin' to work the Chevy. Ragged, don't you have a vehicular connection of some sort?

Re: LBZ comes home

5 PM ,

In a lengthy [!] phone interview last evening with the Senator, he reports an increase of 8 MPH, also expectations of more to come via the Prop Wizard. Exhaust levels are reportedly up, perhaps a dual purpose usage here, hot boat / marina alarm clock ? Could likely claim some form of diplomatic immunity in regard to local noise regulations. As for the Beak Boat --- No Blowers --- perhaps a change in "X" thru shorter lowers, research so far would suggest that should do the trick in gaining an "Edge" on the Senator. Honestly not too concerned, just looking forward to burning some $4 / gal. gas, my prediction for the upcomming Memorial weekend at the dock price.

Speaking of trucks, out of respect to the truck thread, yes there is a connection. Little brother has both Chevrolet and GMC. Can check to see what is avaliable for you. Was that Donzi yellow you were looking for ????

Dan, nice ride. . .

Is that the sport red? or fire red?

Any reason you decided not to get the new camper mirrors?

I am 2-weeks out from getting a Duramax and considering Deep Blue Metallic or that Red :)

that would be Fire Red. :D

The Dark Blue is too much like black to care for...I considered it also, but remembered my last DARK color vehicle, a Firebird Formula.

It was back in 1989.... for a reason. :p

Hey HP,
Rip is correct, it is Fire Red. I'll have a few new pictures to post next week after I get rid of all the rough black plastic on the truck.

I use the truck as an everyday driver and have to park in tight parking spots. If the truck was just for towing I would have bought the camper mirrors.

The deep blue metallic is a sharp color. I'm sure it's hard to keep clean. I am surprised at how bad the Red shows dirt compared to my 01 Pewter. That truck always looked clean. I wanted Red to match the boat and that's what matters most. :D

ditto, except it was an '02 GMC 496 w/Westers tune, it ran good on '93 (lots of it) but, pinged on cheap fuel or up grades w/a load

RIP,
What are you using for the source of all your remove and replace of you door panels, etc... I had a DVD shop manual with the dodge wondered if the same is available for the chevy, thanks 5p

Rippem 05-10-2006 11:51 AM

Re: LBZ comes home

dieselplace.com

do a search in "do it yourself"

The panels are cake

pry off the lock and door handle bezels from the door panel
hanger screw you'll see in the lock slider hole (some)
screw tucked in top forward corner if armrest (all)
push dart on the front edge
beauty cap (pry off) over screw on the back edge
screw in the bottom (under)

the panel has plastic L-shaped "stands" that go in slots in the bottom of the inner sheet metal. Once the panel lays back a little you'll see them. Don't break 'em off!

door panel comes up (a little) out and up to remove.

the switch connections aren't bad other than the one that has a fold over lock bar...it's blue I think...

oh, and front doors have the courtesy lights...the bulb will invariably fall out of the socket and into the lens...not to worry...shake it out when the panel is free

back doors are similar with fewer fasteners...

Hope this helps
do speakers while you're there.
