kumos or nittos

I like the look on the nittos, but how noisy ere they.

choice of tires are kumo 37 '' road venture or NITTOS mud grappler. Im going with 20'' rims , not many choices on that wheel.

Re: kumos or nittos

Re: kumos or nittos

i hear the mudd grapplers will not wear very long ( less than 20k) should be pretty noisy too.

Re: kumos or nittos

BFGoodrich All Terrain KO might be a little noisy, but they are a great tire. I loved mine, and I had them on a Tahoe. Granted, they were not 37", but they worked great for me.

The Toyo M/T open country tires look great and ride nice. I am putting these on my truck next!

Re: kumos or nittos

Hey mopower, did you have them inflated to capacity , I know they bounce more especially with real big tires but big tires have a tendacy to wear out fast and become lumpy and noisy beacuse they are often uder inflated for a smother ride.

I love the Grapplers. I had comments from my friends about how quiet they were.

Re: kumos or nittos

Toyo makes the quietest AT & MT tire.
I had a set on my old superduty & they were so quiet my wife noticed. That says alot!

I have 37" Nitto's and I would not install them on my kids wagon !!!! They are so noisy you can not hardly talk in the cab. The vibration comes through the accelerator pedal and every thing else. I would never buy nitto's again. Period. I have had 44" Monster Mudders that were not this noisy !!!! Dave

I agree selection is limited when looking for a 37. If you decide to go with A/T's, I am running 355/60/20 (37/14/20) Nitto Terra Grappler on my Super Duty. Incredibly quiet, especially when compared the the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip I used to run. I couldn't tell you how they wear though, only 2k on them. BFG is also making an A/T 37/12.5/20.

I ordered the BFG's I really like the look of a mud tire, but BFG does not make it in a 20 so I ordered the all terrain. I have had really good luck with BFG's in the past.

I run the same tire on a DMAX. Have had great luck with it. Quiet and seems to be weariing relatively well.

Wardey, not disputing what your experience has been. Maybe I have just been lucky.

I have Nitto Terra Grappler on my Excursion and they wore out fast. I liked the looks and they were quiet enough for me. I will look around before getting new tires.

Wardey,
Are you running Terra Grapplers or the Mud Grappler? You've got me worried.

Not to total capacity because in makes for a harsh ride when lightly loaded. I'll put them back on next winter for snow.

Terra's. I'm not kidding, they vibrate the accelerator pedal and I have to crank the 1200 watt stereo to get away from the noise. I talked to the dealer and he said, "Yeah, they get louder the older they get !!!".... Dave

Pulled my Terra grapplers off for the summer. Replaced them with 305-50x20 Goodyear Eagle GTs. The quiet ride is deafening :D :D :D . What a difference...handles nice too

I had a set of mud grapplers on my H2. I was offered a sponsership from Toyo for sema a couple years ago, and a free set of tires. I turned it down and went with the mud grapplers I had to buy myself because the Nittos were so bad ass looking. Yes it sounded as if I was in a small airplane taking off, but that is what the killer stereo was for. I considered the noise the price you payed for cool.

Beer - That's exactly what mine sond like !!! A twin engine prop plane !!! I hate these nitto terra's !!! The more miles I put on them the worse it gets.Like I said, the vibrations are coming throug the floorboard !!! Dave

Im worried about how many miles i can get out of the mt's. The smart thing would be the at's but i love the look of the mt's.

I've got a set of 37X13.50X18 Toyo Open Country M/T's on mine. They're pretty quiet, balanced VERY well, but are kind of expensive. I recommend them to anyone.
