That weight may be 14 inch wheels. Check the sidewalls for tire specs. Should also have tire pressure specs. And yes , I inflate to max recommended pressure

Max psi listed on sidewall is what I always use!

great....i don't happen to be close to my trailer and i haven't looked at the tires/wheels since i bought it. The only reason i ask is that car manufactures and tire manufactures have different psi suggestions, so i thought the trailer manufacturer might too.

Re: trailer tire pressure?

Probably 35 psi but may be more if they are rated as trailer tires. I always go with the max cold psi on the side of the tire because when I am making a tight turn with my triple axle I don't want to pop a bead.

Tires run coolest at higher pressures (less flex), however, if they are wearing out in the middle of the tread then you might want to experiment with a lower pressure ( in 5lb increments)

As above, go with max cold sidewall psi. Mine are 80 max. on truck and trailer.

same here 80 truck and trailer 235-85-16s'

On my old Scarab I ran 5 pounds higher because I was over the rated weight by 30 pounds each tire. trying to keep the side wall from flexing as much which creates heat

Re: trailer tire pressure?

Check the tire cold, then if the sidewall says 60 lbs, put it at 60lbs. anything less causes excessive heat build up, which is the major cause of tire failure, trailer or truck.

give some thought to the age of those dounuts. if they are more than 7 or 8 years old give some serious thought to replacing them. nothing ruins a good day boating more than sitting on the side of the road with a blown tire.
