20" wheels on superduty

Im considering a set of 20" rims for my superduty and wanted to know what size width and backspacing I should get..

I am going to eventually put a leveling kit on it but want to be able to run 35" tires with no rub. But i dont want a wheel that juts out 8 inches from the wheel well and what width do you guys reccomend?

Re: 20" wheels on superduty

A large percentage of aftermarket wheels don't meet the load rating of the stock Superduty wheel. Some are as much as 1,000#+ short. No problem if you don't ever tow or haul but if you do, you can break one of those cast wheels in an instant. Tire selection in load-range "E" in 20" is pretty thin too.

here's mine its a 99 f-250 4x4 powerstroke these are 305-50 20's. had slight rub on the flares on the backside of the wheel well. priced the leveling kit but decided to go with the fabtec 5.5" lift kit instead. got the kit for $1850.00 installed NEW FRNT SPRINGS AND FRNT AND REAR SHOCKS ALL INCLUDED

Re: 20" wheels on superduty

i went with 18's , more E load range tires in that size, but as far as back spacing 4 1/2 to 5 inch with 35's and no rub.

My 05 and 07 Harley Edition Super Duty came stock with 20" wheels. The only issue I had was replacement tires with load E rating. As far as I know only Goodyear makes a replacement tire. But if anyone else knows of another option please enlighten me.

10x20 Eagle Alloys and 305/50x20 Goodyear Eagles. Both tires AND wheels are rated at over 3000 lbs each. Tows great and handles like a sports car compared to my 305/70-16 Nitto Terra Grapplers(winter tires). Quiet running on the road too

OSO member Mama Tryed can get you just about any tire drop shipped, BUT I don't know about shipping to Canada.

You can try shooting him a PM or he may check in on this thread.

look on ebay... there's always someone looking to sell their stock 20's... after they've lifted their truck. saw some there a few weeks back.... factory tires, so there's no doubt they are rated properly.

I'm interested in a wheel/tire upgrade as well for my 06' F-250 4WD.

I'm thinking 18's cause there seems to be more choices. Anyone with the combo please post pics of your ride and state what your combo is!

Re: 20" wheels on superduty

I have an 05 F-250 with a 5 inch Pro Comp lift and 35X13.50/20s on it. Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ load rating E. Tows just fine. Go with the 20s, the 18s are old school.

Re: 20" wheels on superduty

Plenty of 20" Heavy Duty wheels out there.

Check out www.wheelpros.com

They don't sell direct, but a majority of rim/tire shops are dealers for them.
