Re: Manning Trailers

I have a Manning trailer under my Top Gun. I have towed my boat over 6,000 miles in the past year and the trailer is great. I do have electric 6 disc brakes that work very well. Ron was great to work with and did everything he said he would.
Good luck!

Pull a painted under our rig. Heavy duty and tows very well..

Only thing I don't like is that I cannot manually lock out the surge actuator! With disk brakes this can be a hassle if your depending on the electric actuator..

Are others with Manning trailers not equipped with a manual lock out?

Mine does not have a manual lock out. My guess would be that the coupler manufacturer does not want to be responsible for somebody manually locking out their brakes and then not unlocking them before towing and causing an accident. My old snowmobile trailer had a manual lock out but every time you moved forward, it automatically released, making it worthless in my opinion. I have considered drilling a hole through the coupler that I could put a grade 8 bolt through to lock it out for times when it gets towed empty or in case the electrical system were to fail unexpectedly.

With that being said, I am totally satisfied with my Manning welded aluminum trailer. I think it's appearance is better than any welded aluminum trailer that I have seen. It tows the boat excellent, loads easily and was a great value. Only time will tell how the welded aluminum holds up over the long haul but I do not expect any problems. If I were to do it all over again, there is no question in my mind that I would have Manning Marine build me a welded aluminum trailer.

I take it thats your boat in the pics on the site???........never seen a welded aluminum trailer like that........only "I" beams.......is it box section???........is it better than I beams???
