2500hd to a 3500 dually?

What would it take to make my 2500 into a 3500 dually since i have a custom paint on my truck.I don't want to buy a new dually.I can get a new bed for a dually cheap but not sure what else i would have to do.I have a 4" susp. lift and 20's on it now. Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can buy a GM SB Dually bed. You are going to have to buy dually fenders and graft them on.

As for the axles, give Mark a call and ask him how they are configured. I know Ford bolts adapters to their axles to make them wider to accept the dually wheels. I don't know how GM does it. Is a GM 2500 and 3500 axle the same less adapters?

Super singles on the rear might be an option, but then you would have to carry two different spare tires, one for the front, and one for the rear.

what would be the point of this conversion?? looks or do you want the capacity of the dually?? I know the springs are different...the axles on the 3500 have different drums for the brakes..not sure on the actuall size though. If you just want the look you can do it with spacers. I had custom 2.5" spacers made for my dually when i installed the 6" lift and ran 35" tires on it so the tires wouldnt rub.....like it was mentioned...you can get aftermarket flares from outfits like LUND or probably straight from the factory.

Better ride for towing.

Running a truck with a lift, theres not much to be done to improve the ride when towing.....i would probably get some airbags and a distribution htich and call it done...and make sure the tires are load range "E" other then that i think it would be a waste of money.....
