Unhappy F-350 took a puke - let me down!

My 2000 Powerstroke F-350 left me stranded tonight. It loss power , shut off and that was that! Luckily I coasted into the parking lot of TOYS R US , my destination anyway. Oil was everywhere , under truck , on top of motor and down the side of the truck. What the heck could it be? The gauges never showed a loss of oil pressure and it didn't run hot. I called my wrecker company , went shopping , ate dinner and caught a limo ride home.

What are you doing driving a 6 yr old truck. You should get a new one every year, with your monies.

My brothers 2000 broke a turbo oil line and puked oil all over, luckily he was outside the truck and saw the oil start running out from under it and shut it down!!! Something to look for.

Turbo oil line is what I'm thinking. Yahoo I'm old school , never trade , it's paid for and looks new. If I had your money I'd just go buy a new King Ranch F-350 and a new 36 Skater! Fingers crossed on the truck!

Every time I see oil outside the engine, there are either holes in the pan or block. Maybe Christmas will come early for you.

My friend has an E-350 (van), not sure of the year. His was the first year to have some kind of rail injection system. Seems they used engine oil pressure to trip the injector. To do this they ran a full pressure oil line from the bottom of the block to the valley. His line chaffed, got a hole and caught on fire while running and the pressure oil feeding the fire. He was able to put it out. Ford gave him a hard time about the line, after they put a new line in, it was still rubbing in the same spot.

Long story short, you may have a similar problem, look for a hose some where down there...

I had an 01 with a rusty oil pan, it hadn't leaked but was pretty close. I just couldn't see spending $1200 on a replacement pan. Other than that it was a great truck.
