diesel F-250 vs. F-350
 

As of yesterday my trustly tow pig is totaled, so im shopping.

Ive heard on more than one occasion that the Ford 250 and 350 powerstroke superduties have the exact same suspension just different labeling.

Yes...? No?.......thoughts???

I was told the same thing when I ordered my 06 250. I can tell you it would squatt a hell of a lot more than my 05 350 with my Scarab hooked to it. Also my GTX would squatt my 250 alot more than it did my brother 06 350. I think they are the same suspension except the 250 has less helper leafs in the rear.

Depends on the year of the truck. Different specs-different years, but for the most part, they are identical. Often, the F250 will have 2" rear blocks and the 4" rear blocks on the F350.

A better question would be what you are looking for, year/new/used. what are you towing now, what might you be towing in the near future.

Yep, exactly what Brian said - the F-350 has 4" blocks and the F-250 has 2" blocks.

Depending upon what you are towing, you may want the F-350, due to its higher towing rating. It's been written on this site many times about insurance not covering damage if you are towing over the limit of the vehicle.

An F350 has a larger rear axle than the 250....almost a 100% sure regarding the DRW f350 vs f250

How is the turning radius on the newer one compared to say a 2001 F250. I've been driving mine around downtown charlotte a lot lately and it sucks.

The F250 srw and the F350srw have the same rear springs except for the overload leaf mounted on the top of the spring and the accompanying brackets on the frame that the overload leaf comes in contact with when loaded and different height factory spacer blocks . My son-in-law had an 04 swb f350 srw 4x4 at the same time I had an 04 swb f250 srw 4x4 and I installed 4" lifts on both trucks and that was the only difference between the 2 trucks mechanically.

I now own an 06 f350 swb 4x4 dually and the truck rides and handles/steers 10 times better than my 04,,,,the coil spring frontend was a definate improvement,,,no comparison between the 04 & the 06.

I think the coil spring front suspension began in 2005. This drastically improved the turning radius over the previous models with leaf spring front suspensions. (F250 and F350 alike.)

I have a 2000 F-350 Dually (crew cab, long bed). Its big. I turns like an Aircraft Carrier. It rides and sounds like a TANK, and I love it.

I have the same thing now for a work truck. Im looking to buy basically the same thing for personal use. As far as towing right now its just the 28 Cig, next couple years who knows.

I've had 01,02,04,05,&06 4 door short box 4x4's the 05 & 06 where 350's & I think they all had about the same turning radius. Not tight enough to make a u-turn from the turning lane on a 4 lane street without useing some of the sholder. Also the 04 & 05 where 6.0's the rest where v-10's.
