Best Sirius Receiver Mounting
 

Whats the easiest/ best way to mount a Sirius Satellite Receiver on a 06 F-250 Crew? The manual says needs to be on the roof. How's this done so it looks good?

Remove your third brake light, and bring the wire out the top dead center of the whole. Protect the antenna wire with several wraps of electrical tape, and make sure the wire does not get pinched. As, you transfer from the inside of the truck to the outside, run the wire along the very edge and use electrical tape to hold/protect it. Do not pinch, kink, or nick the antenna cable. You will have antenna reception issues if you do. Then use a little clear RTV silicone around the wire as you re-install the light. Then run the antenna pod onto the roof, and use the enclosed hard rubber adhesive wire sleeve to secure the wire to the roof of the cab for the exposed 8 inches. I did this on my SuperDuty, and it looks like factory. My truck is black, so its hardly noticeable.

Brian , After in the hole from the light, how did you run to the dash? Did you go down the floor and then under the plastic steps under the doors? Thanks for the reply. Eric

It easy to tuck from the rear center of the headliner over to the passenger side top of the doors. I poked it around the upper outside of the headliner under the upper door trim pieces, and then down the A-pillar. Drop the glovebox, and tie up the remainder of the antenna cable with a couple zip-ties behind the glovebox after you have extended the plug to your receiver.

Once you get behind the dash, just use a couple of 'low-voltage wire-taps' and grab power from your cigarette lighter, and snap onto a ground somewhere. Easy install. My 2000 has a cubby-hole to the below-left of the radio, and I have mine mounted in there on my dually. I have used the Pro-Fit on a Toyota and Pontiac before with great results.
