Distance from Tire to Fender

I have just done a total over haul on my trailer. I need to know the distance that I should have from the top of my tire to the bottom of the fender. If anyone can get this for me it would be a HUGE help. Please let me know if you have a single, dual, or tripple axle trailer.

It would seem to me that distance would be determined by the amount of spring travel there is. If the fender is two inches above the tire, but the suspension can travel three inches, it's going to cause obvious problems. You should be able to measure the remaining spring travel with the trailer loaded and mount the fenders just above that.

Ah good idea.... Some times the obvious solution is the one we miss :D:D

I have a tandem with torsions and I had place that built trailer move the fenders up to clear larger diameter tires. (it came with some goofy low profile tires OEM). I checked it by loading one axle totally and checking torsion axle compression. I can measure tomorrow in the daylight. A tandem leaf will allow much larger travel because of the linkage between the forward and rear.
