New Dodge Ram Diesel Engine
As of 01/01/07 new regs went into effect for diesel motors. Does anyone have any word on the new Dodge Ram 2500/3500 with the 6.9L motor w/6 speed automatic trans?

Not sure what information you are looking for, but I doubt you will find anywere with more information than the TDR

It will be a 6.7L cummins....same inline 6 design. I think 350hp and 650lbft of torque. The new restrictions obviuosly make it harder to pull easy power out of the 5.9(that has plenty to spare,) thus more displacement. Im excited. The cummins is the most reliable, proven, light truck diesel you can currently get. 30% fewer moving parts than a comparable v8 diesel....and a real big rig sound. It is afterall a detuned medium duty truck motor.

It's supposed to have a 52 gallon fuel tank as well. I don't know why they all don't go to the bigger fuel tank. My old powerstroke only had like a 24 gallon tank. My current Dodge has a 35 gallon tank I am looking forward to getting a new one in the next year or two.

You can get up to a 75gal tank to replace the OEM tank.
If diesel holds true to the 7lbs per gal weight...thats 525lbs of fuel.....that, you would feel |
the problem with an OEM tank replacement is that is throws off the trip computer (distance to empty, MPG, etc)
