When I wanted to convert mine...the trailer was still very new. I called the trailer manufacture and they sold me what they had to convert. The tongue assembly (to rid the trailer of the actuator) and the BrakeRite assembly, the metal bracket for the BrakerRite to mount to and the battery box with battery along with the wire harness.
Now the friend of mine bought the type (and I really can't remember) but I think it butted right against the mater cylinder. I don't know what he did with this surge actuator. I will ask him....

Hope this helps alittle

Very bad idea to leave a surge system in place after disabling it. You must either weld it solid or replace it with a new coupler. Failure to do so will result in banging of the coupler. Also do not forget the break-a-way switch.

I'm not worried about it banging, the master cyclinder is shot on it.

I would definetly weld a nice bead on the actuator. That banging would worry my drive train.
