Myco electic/hydraulic brake sender

I have a Myco trailer with electric/hydraulic and my truck has a Reese brake control...if any of u have tried this u know the Reese only works when it wants to...where do I get the controller that works??? Also, why doesn't the Reese one work???What's the difference??? Thanks,Mike

With electric/hydraulic brakes, there must be compatibility with the controller. I have a brake-rite unit on my Eagle trailer and was told by Eagle I needed to use a Tekonsha Voyager.

Carrboy, I feel your pain went through trying to learn the "magic." Find the manufacturer of the Hydraulic pump on your trailer. I recommend to look since there are several. I got some good information from BrakeController.com. Call them, they sell almost all controllers at the best price. I called Tekonsha's tech support and also got good information. I bet you've got a bad unit or wiring if your brakes work sometimes and sometimes not. Are they not applying brakes at all or when they are applied they are not effective? The reese unit is compatible with most and works pretty well but is low tech compared with the Tekonsha.

Draw-tite II worked for us with a Carlisle brake actuator on the trailer.

I had towed my 382 from California to Colorado Springs with my brother-in-laws '02 3500 Chevrolet diesel with factory controller with no problem. Switched back to my '94 Chevy truck for the rest of the trip back and couldn't get the trailer brakes to work. After a day of frustration trying to figure it out, talked to Eagle and then found the recommended controller at a RV parts supply place there. Also needed to run another main power wire from the battery.

Draw-tite Activator II is what i use. Docmanrich has the same boat/myco trailer setup as i was getting so i went with what worked for him. Theres a old thread on here somewhere about some boxes work with the Myco some don't. The actuator on my trailer is a Titan Brake-Rite EHB.
