Just got back 2 weeks ago from the Hatfield and McCoy Trails in WV. If you have never tried you don't know what your missing! Pretty awsome!

I ran a GNCC in W.V.,, Lots of hills and rocks. We ran the moose tubes because of all the rocks. The Loretta Lynn National is this week-end, I was planning on going to spectate but I've got to get my boat ready for Tickfaw.

Love the vintage stuff. I've been collecting and restoring them for years. Here's a pic of my favorite bike. It's a 1976 Penton 400 Cross Country. Totally original with 368 orig miles. It ran the Jack Pine Two Day (qualifier for the ISDT) and put away for 20 years.

One of my all time favorite bikes was the IT-175 Yamaha. I bought one new in 1978 and put 10,000 miles on it in two seasons. Great memories! Here's on I picked up a few years ago.

Chris Sunkin, sweet Maico's! If you are ever in the Boston area, a buddy of mine has an incredible classic bike collection and likes to show to people who appreciate fine motorcycles. He's got well over 500 motorcycles, many Maico's including a Maico Typhoon street bike, lots of Rickman's, Husky's, CZ's pretty much you name it.

I've been riding KTM 300 EXC's since 1998 ... my favorite of all the bikes I've owned. A couple that I've had over the past 32 years .... 1975 Honda MT250 elsinore (my first "real" motorcycle), 1978 Honda MR175, several Yamaha TT500's and XT500's, Yamaha IT490 (that thing was brutal :D ), IT250, CR480R (another one that tried to kill me!), CR250R - all red, including the engine, air cooled, KDX200, RMX250, XR250R, XR400R, 1996 KTM250SX, 1999 KTM200MXC, 1998 YZ400F, 1998 KTM300 EXC, 1999 KTM300 EXC, and my latest KTM300 EXC. The most I ever had in the garage at one time was 5! Then I got married and dropped to 2, now, down to 1. We ride mostly Wayne National Forest (Dorr Run) and another place in Clay County KY.

I'm old school. 98 Banshee. I just don't ride enough to justify buying a new bike/quad. I would go YZF or 450R if I upgraded. Those CanAms are nice also.......

Biggus - what is with that HUGE Kahlua bottle in the background?? Man, if I had that thing it would be sitting on my neighbor's roof with a spotlight the minute he went out of town!!

I've got an old Honda 250ex Quad. The Low speed jets appear to be gummed up so I guess I'll have to pull that apart pretty soon and check into it....

sweet KTM's, i love the looks of the new ktm's!!!
i ride a 05 ktm 450 exc that i also have a supermoto set up for, its fun but a pain to change back and forth between dirt and street. I also have a trx450r for when i want to go riding with my friends with quads. other bikes/quads i have owned include a 98 yz400f, 99 ktm 200exc, 03 crf450, a old blaster a couple 400ex's and a bad 87 trx250r.
i have had a bunch of street bikes also but the only fun thing to do a a street bike is to take it to the track. I road raced a suzuki sv650 and a gsxr600 with wera and fasttrax for a few years. very fun but it makes boating look cheap!

Good to see some OSO guys are still playing in the dirt. Brian, Sweet TY350. I've been looking for one of those!

Here's a couple Yamaha IT's I recently restored.

Here's the 300 after cleaning it up from the season. What a bike for the woods. Installed an Ohlins shock mid summer and had Factory Connection re-valve the forks. Man, is it plush. Just instaled the 5th and last set of tires for the season and dressed her up with '09 Portugal Six Days (ISDE) graphics.

My girlfriend and I each have a 2007 Kawasaki kx 250f and love them! Past bikes include kdx 200. and kx 125s. We also ride Kawasaki stand up jet ski's and arctic cat snowmobiles. I think we like hot green or something! Kristy is trying to talk me into painting the boat or buying a new one hot green and black! Lots of sweet bikes on her, especially the kawis and ktms!!

Thanks Brian, the 175 is a '78. The 400 is a '79. Those TT350's were a sweet ride. A buddy of mine bought one new with High School graduation $$. He still has it, only rides it a few times a year.

Do you want to sell that TY? I've wanted one for years.

-Here's my '80 Can Am 250 Qualifier. It's a lot of fun, works very well for a vintage bike. I ran about 10 tanks of gas down its neck it this summer. Nice motor and very quiet. Anyone into the Canned Hams?:drink:

Dave, I'm interested in taking a riding trip this winter. I'm dying to ride my new bike!

Brian, I'm planning to ride at Highland Park offroad park (KTM World) outside of Atlanta?? after the Maimi Boat Show. Are you familiar with that place?

Here's a fun old ride, its a 1970 Husqvarna 250 'Cross. 4 speed right side shift. For an old relic, it really works pretty well but the right shift will faaak you up if you get too comfortable!:drink:

My wife and I both ride and race... not as much now because were on the boat so much, but I did race 3 times this year and won 3 times this year (+30 twice, 250B once). Both bikes have big bore kits, rekluse pros, rims, Euro suspension, etc, etc..

Thanks for posting the pic. Spotted the Can-Am almost immediately in post 63. Bought the same bike new in 80. Was a little on the heavy side and the suspension needed attention as they all did back then. The motor purred with a nice smooth/wide powerband and yes, very quiet.
Prior to the Qualifier, had a MX2 175, then stepped up to the MX3 250. Jimmy Ellis was my Hero back in the day! :D

-Glad you enjoyed the Can Am pic. A friend of mine had it buried way in the back of his barn and it hadn't been used since shortly after buying it new. I had been after him to sell it to me for over 15 yrs and the answer was always no. It was no because he knew it would be a major chore to get it out of where it was. He finally offered it to me as long as I brought a crew to extract it. (this guys barn would be a dream for the "pickers") In order to get it out, we slung a rope over one of the beams, hoisted it by the front wheel and swung it towards the front of the barn. It was a lesson in rigging for sure!

Even after sitting for close to 30 yrs, all it took was a carb cleaning and fresh fuel. The bike is totally original, down to the grips. She started on the second kick. I registered it and used it as a dual sport all summer, burned about 10 tanks of fuel through it. (ran CAM II 110octane with Klotz racing castor, what a nice smell!) It works very well and being a six speed, its got some legs on the road. Yeah, the rear suspension is pretty poor, next year I might spring for a set of custom Works Performance shocks.

Here's a pic of my 1976 Penton/KTM 400. I've had it for close to 20 years.

Thanks... The blue rims are Excels with an OEM hub and Pro Wheel Spokes. The black set is Pro Wheel rims, OEM hub, PW spokes... lacing those things up can be a real pain!!

We race a little bit of both, with a couple of Grand Prix's mixed in. In all honesty, I would rather just go for a trail ride than race... I'm getting old and those kids are getting faster!
