An old Honda 200R 4 stroke from back in the day when they first released the "Pro-Link" suspension. She is old, but runs well.
|
 Nice
the 4 Strokes are really coming around. My bike has tons of power everywhere, in fact Im grounded from it for a little bit for pulling a wheely in 3rd gear going by my house to the trails.:evilb: |
Used to ride a Yamaha WR450....No more for me right now, they are shutting down all riding areas around me.....
Buddy has an 06 YZ450F and that thing is just plain amazing!!! Oh yeah my only bike I have to ride now is my 1992 Z50....and trx70 err(85).... Looking for a YSR50 if anyone knows where a good one is |
'03 KX250
'02 KTM 400 '00 CR500AF And about a dozen vintage Maico bikes. |
No dirtbike since my 93 Honda XR 80. I got into quads and now I have a 2002 Honda 400 ex with tons of mods. I hardly ever get to ride so I'm gonna stick with that for a while. Otherwise I would have a newer 450.
Fast Fun, what trails do you ride up there? |
Nice Bikes Chris

Chris, That's cool that you have the old Maicos. The CR500AF is a nice custom built bike. I have a 99 CR250 that I race in vet (40 plus). Recently move to PA from Ohio and have only practiced here. Lots of nice tracks. This is AMA district 6. Seems to be getting harder to find places to ride that are not actually race tracks. We had a state forest in Ohio that was 10 minutes from my house, but I have not found anything like that in southeast PA yet. Love to see some pics of everyones bikes. I have enjoyed ridinig and racing dirt bikes since I was 10 years old. I raced Maicos when I was younger and still have my 74.5 440 that I bought new with my paper route money. The CR500AF is a killer. It'll tear your a$$ right off the seat and leave without you if you don't treat the throttle with respect. |
Chris,
That Maico is Beautiful. Fox Airshocks to boot! Brings back great memories. I raced Suzuki's in the 100 class (remember that?!) and 125 B class while I was in high school. In college I raced open bikes. I had a 78 YZ400, 80 KX420 and an 82 465 Suzuki (my favorite!) As cool as the new four strokes are, It's tough to beat the rush of riding an open class 2-stroke! |
'00 Suzuki DRZ-S converted to Supermoto
'05 Honda CRF 250X...for sale '99 Honda XR100...bought it for the EX girlfriend...lost her, kept the bike...I'd have to say it's a toss up which one gave me a better ride :evilb: '01 Yamaha Zuma used to get around at race tracks...I want to put a big bore kit in it |

88 RM250J here. I'm a sucker for older bikes and this is partly why the Apache is still in the "project" stage. :)

First bike was a '91 Honda CR80R. Liquid cooled, she flew. Beat my buddies free air 125 Yammy. Didn't like to idle though, and it wasn't much fun in the woods. Second, and last, bike was a 2001 Yamaha YZ125. I loved that thing, didn't have enough time to ride though.

Nice bikes everybody. I bet there are a lot of OSO members that like to ride offroad. I think the need for speed and excitement is in your blood weather you are on the water or land!:D

Best damn bike I ever had. I used to take that thing through rivers...stall, start it in the water and keep going. I didn't ride for six years, then bought a Honda 400EX quad...stolen 1 year later, and thats that. I used to race an RM125, that was a good bike too.
That's why it is still around and has never been traded for a new bike. You just plain can't kill it! I have been through several 3 and 4 wheelers over the same number of years, but this 200R is still going strong. |
you go as fast as you can over bumps, hit a big bump..go airborn..throw in some dust and your riding a dirtbike..

though i am still trying to find a nice YSR that is local ish....should be more fun then a normal scooter, i hope |
a YSR with a 4mm long rod stroker, pro-x cylindered blaster motor would be insane.
|
yeah that would even be better. I just be happy with a stock one right now...

I couldn't have said it better myself!! There's nothing like it! I quit racing in 95, mostly Hare Scrambles, Enduros, & Cross Country's. ( compound Tib & Fib fracture) I still have an XR600 that I play with, I would go take a pic of it but after seeing those beautful Macos, it doesn't matter. I was on a Hodaka Super Rat back in those days, then I got one of the first Honda Elsnores a 125, bored it to a 175, then a Penton because thats what all the fast guy's were riding, then an IT175, he'll of a woods bike!! OK I'll stop there! :D :D

Where did you start and where did you go? How far between spots of civilization? My big fear these days is crazy riders- mostly kids- who have no regard for their own well being. I've been on some public trails and have seen these nutsos coming the wrong way down marked trails wide open on 4-wheelers with no helmets or shirts. One of my riding buddies got landed on last year by some a$$hole kid. Broke his shoulder, some ribs and his arm. The kid was jumping blind off of the top of a hillclimb backwards and landed on him. We made the kid walk back- kept his bike. Reported it to the local PD. I still have his bike- the kid never contacted my buddy about the injuries or damage to his bike. |
I have a 75hp banshee that is actually for sale right now.
Its a blast to hang on to. http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=3872943 Finman |
