07 Duramax is quiet!

Had to take a second look today to check for the duramax badge because it was as quiet as a gas motor.

I drove my buddies 07 dmax this weekend. I was amazed how quite it was.

29KILROY 05-29-2007 09:46 AM

They are very quiet inside and out!!!!

spilman 05-30-2007 07:11 AM

You Chevy guys would be impressed with the all new SD. My mechanic drives a Chevy("cause it's cheap", his words); he got in my 08' and said" Ford makes the best truck, period." That from a Chevy guy.....the new Super Duty's are truly impressive.

Can't wait to read your post about being left on the side of the road and your truck is soooo quiet because it doesn't run!:evilb: Odd that a mechanic drives a reliable truck but takes money to work on yours, seems to be a conflict of interest there!

The new Fords are not out of the woods yet, I know of an 08 that self destructed at 50 miles. Owner is a OSO'r and he got the truck replaced by Ford.

Seriously, hope your new ride serves you well. I like the updated look, just hope the new motor is a winner.

spilman 06-03-2007 05:18 PM

My mechanic is boatfixr on OSO; I don't have a truck mechanic cause since my first Super duty I haven't had a problem. My 99 F-350 SRW 4x4 went 239,000 miles with Not a problem. My next F-350 is an 05', I still have it, one of my employees is driving it. I am not worried about the 6.4, although my mileage is not as good as the 6.0 litre. However, my boat is always needing something!!

Byrdman 06-03-2007 06:18 PM

Nothing beats a proven combo...it is very nice to hear that there all getting quiet.

stecz20 06-03-2007 06:54 PM

chevys are for queers....:evilb:

spilman 06-03-2007 07:08 PM

My next door neighbours 07 LMM, apart from the obvious, he put drop shackles in the back to get it more level, we are waiting on MBRP's new dual exhaust system and then it's done.

Congrats on selling your boat, I know you must have something new in mind, whats it going to be? Or is it going to be a cruiser now that you are a proud dad?:D

Not many people I know woudl admit to three dumb mistakes but you posted a picture of yours! :D

Glad to see your mechanic is the smart guy. Do a search on Duramax problems vs the Ford issues and you will see you got a rare truck that still runs.

The new GMC isn't great looking but in the Chevy trim is is marginally better but the good news is you can't see the grill while driving either model but in your new 08 Ford you can get all the views you want while waiting for the wrecker to come get you off the side of the road! :D

Ford to Advertise In Gay Press
Reversal Follows Condemnation

By Sholnn Freeman
Washington Post Staff Writer
Thursday, December 15, 2005; Page D01

Ford Motor Co. yesterday said it will resume advertising Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in gay-themed publications, following an outpouring of fury from gay groups that said Ford's recent decision to pull the ads fed anti-gay sentiment and emboldened enemies of gay rights
