I just got a Titan about 6 weeks ago and it tows my boat(approx 5200-5500 lbs) easily...you hardly know its back there. You an go to titantalk.com and browse the forums...lots of useful information. There is even a separate tow/haul forum on there.

Default Go Deisel

Buy a nice used 96 Chevy 3500 TD - With the price of gas these days and the 30% improved milage its a no-brainer to go diesel

Update: I went with Titan. I towed the boat (4500#) locally for first time last week with it. (had to put 500 miles on it (break-in) and finally got that done. Man this truck tows great, I have towed things my whole life and I was shocked how nice it towed for a gasser. Granted, not a diesel but still damn impressive. I will spend the 5k I saved o the truck for anew motor for the boat maybe in the fall. :-) I am going on couple hundred mile road-trip this weekend and can't wait to set the cruise and just drive.

Congrats. I love my Titan. Main reason why I bought it is because I am going to upgrade the boat(maybe as soon as next year), and the 9400 lb. tow rating is impressive for a 1/2 ton.

I towed my 1995 Scarab 22' scarab with a 1995 Astro van a few years back and it towed it better than my 1996 3/4 454ci 4x4 suburban towed my last boat ( a 31' scarab).

Bill I agree with you but I think the Titan's are made in Tennessee. I have 2 friends with them, one is thrilled with the truck and the other has had a nightmare with front brakes/ suspension issues. To me they feel like you are driving a minivan but they are fast.

Well...well...well...as soon as I saw it...I had to waste a hour of time to educate myself as if I was wrong in previous statements....I just did a complete interview of a titan Se 5.8....all I have to say...is jap garbage....the way you guys talk around here is like there the the next honda car of trucks...NO WAY!...I looked at the back breaks...pleeeeze pads are the size of a infants shoes....the springs are like total toyota pick up springs....Jupiter said it all... it is like a mini van he is telling the truth....so I tell my sprinkler buddy at the counter to let me take it for a beat with the pipe puller in tow....I rip it to 68 then sort of stop fast to see.....and forget it....I sway it on purpose....and forget it....that thing can't save it's life with 3 g on the back...yea...it has enough balls sort of ..but...I am in disbelief that you guys come in here bragging about such junk for towing a boat..telling everybody how great they are....honestly I am going to have to quit breaking balls about the excursion and suburban deals....a nissan titan shouldn't be towing anything at all!....and to think this beat out a d max cause of 5g of money and 3 mile to work....shame...not even close to being a truck...sorry..
