I think most 2x4 or 2x6 carpeted bunks are prob. pressure treated lumber,, cedar is way soft and too expensive. Those big bunks on alum. trlrs are normally cyprus,, I believe thats a wood that actually grows in water.

you do not want to use pressure treated, thats coming from Myco and Performance Trailer, use Kiln Dried Spruce, or Pine, you can get it at most lumber yards

Correct, I typed Cedar but meant Cyprus in my earlier post

I use a router to take off all the sharp edges off the boards. Then I use resin on the boards to seal them. Then I install new carpet. The last longer and do not cut the carpet on the edges.
