GM Diesel Engine codes
Saw the emissions light come on today so i checked the edge products juice thing to see what the problem was. 2 things came up. First was a break circuit 1-2 correlation and the other is a fuel pressure rail high input. Do I need to take the truck in? only has 9300 miles on it
With 9300 you still have a bunch of warranty left. Take the Edge off first if you want to have them honor that coverage.
damnit, how long will it take to remove it? I just paid $250 to have it installed because I had no time to do it as we were leaving our florida house in the morning for a 1200 mile trip back to indy with our 382 formula and felt we would need the edge through the mountains
Shouldn't take more than an hour or so. The dealers are actively looking for evidence of these tuners and love to fight oyu on warranty claims- especially engine-related. Ford more than GM. Funny thing is, more than a few dealers install them. If you have a good relationship at your dealer, you may have no problem. I wouldn't want to find out the hard way though. Your best bet is to pull it before it goes in.
do I need to take out the EGT probe as well? If so, what should I put in its place temporarily
You might be able to sneak by- that's a crowded engine compartment. Couldn't hurt to pull it- the chances that the installer put hi-temp anti-seize on it are pretty slim so doing that might save you a future headache.
egt probe could be left and if they ask just staye adding an egt gauge since you tow your boat to be more comfortable on the wear of the motor dont want to cook it. Also if you have the actual p codes check out www.dieselplace.com a forum for the duramax owners basically with lots of info about the codes and what is the cause.
