Quick question on the safety switch.

I have the accidentally broken the plastic cable connector of the break-away switch on my trailer. It is a Tekonsha 2010. I need to get somewhere before I can replace it. In order to keep the brakes from locking up should I connect the two leads or keep them separate?

Did you break the plastic plug /w cable that goes into the switch? If so, you can simply slide something of the appropriate size in there, IE a small wood dowel, BIC pen, etc. You simply want to allow the 2 contacts inside to not touch. I would recommend taping it in place until you can get a replacement pin.

Thanks. I am waiting for a replacement as we speak.
