Suburban Parking Brake

Does anyone know what is wrong with a 2002 3/4 ton Sub parking brake. Just went though the back brakes:party-smiley-020: everything is new. Parking brakes are adjusted out as far as they can go. There is excessive slack in the parking brake cables. The adjuster is run all the way in. Still has about 2 inches of slack in the cables. Anyone have this problem???????

did you remove the rear rotors and inspect the emergency brake linigs??
if you pull on the cable do the rear brakes lock up.

Just had the rotors turned and new pads. The parking brake shoes are like new, and adjusted correctly.
