So the Wix filter is a direct replacement for the factory filter? Looks like I better be changing it soon, was just going by the restriction gauge is why I have not done it yet...

Yep. That's the one I've been using in my '05 6.0L. Fits like a glove, works great. I'm on my third one, no issues.

I think AEM dry flow filters are supposed to be the way to go on an oil burner. See if they make a reasonable replacement or CAI kit for your rig.

The OEM long block for the 6.0 is about $12 grand installed. I wouldn't try to stretch any of the filters. 25K is it on the air filter. If you have a major engine issue with your truck while under warranty and don't have solid documentation AND have non-OEM Ford filters in it, you can expect a struggle from Ford in getting your claim approved. It's not worth the chance to save a few bucks on a filter that you're only going to replace twice before the warranty expires.

I am going to have the oil changed in a few days, think I will tell them to stick in a new air filter too. I think I will tell them I want to see the one coming out so I can see what it looks like. I cant understand why Ford and Chevy would use the restriction gauges if they are that in accurate ??
