Lease Trader ?
Has anyone dealt with or understand how lease trader works? My wife was looking around it and there seems to be some good deals were you can get into a nice auto for a year and turn in the lease when it's up instead of being stuck in a multi year lease.

Read the fine print. Some lease companies require the original lessor to stay on a guarantor of the remainder of the lease.

I traded out of the lease on my ex-wife's 2006 CLK550 thru lease trader. Great experience… It takes about six weeks from start to finish. The lease has to be assumable. Most manufacturer backed leases like Mercedes and BMW are assumable. Check before posting. Would do it again, in a minute…

CRB76, thanks! We are not looking to get rid of a lease but to tak over payment on a lease for around a year....if the deal is good. My wife is not sure what she wants yet but we have seen some nice BMW's and Mercedes with ultra low miles, good payment with only a year left on the lease. They seem to be good deals. This is something we are looking to do this coming winter.

I thought about this option before as well.
Would give me the chance to get my hands on a sports car with out the long term $$$$ obligation. |
My .02 cents
It is a great progam to get out of your lease with out loosing your azz. For a buyer, some of the lease's are just stupid. example 700.00 a month for 70 months on a 04 Range Rover that has a book out of 35K Their were other deals that looked to good to be true or just good deals. ex 07 BMW 335 for 531.00 a month You really still need to compare the leases. Each state is different on how the taxes are paid, wich will effect your payment. For example TX taxes the full selling price of the car. You can roll that into your payment LA only taxes on the lease payment. Cheaper taxes. OK makes you pay the taxes up front on a seprate transaction. You can always pick out a pre-owned car and go too a lease broker. Most of the time they will have tax credits wich cover the sales tax. Just shop the deal around before you pull the trigger. I hope this helps. Tom |

They used to have some good cars there- don't see much now.
I looked at this place before but never did any thing but dream. http://www.donlleasing.com/ I want a Lotus but they are problematic cars so didn't want the issues that they have, just wanted to drive it for a while. |
I took over a BMW 645 convertible lease and it was a pleasant experience. Car under warranty and in brand new condition from a meticulous lessee. I would do it again in an instant. Takes about 5-6 weeks to have the paperwork done. I found everyone involved to be above par.
