I haven't done any Mods on this one yet, as I was concerned about warranty, being a new motor and all. I am very tempted though as I think it would help the mileage, hope this helps

Thanks for the info..I picked up a brochure today, a option on the 350 is the same turning radius as the 450, which I thought was great. Jeff

I don't think it would matter. If you have an accident towing over the Truck Manufactures tag along rating. I think the insurance could void the claim. Not a risk I want to take.

I wonder if there may be a connector like on the class 8 trucks that drop down from a fifth wheel (like a Holland mini 5th wheel) to a drop deck trailer or pintle hook.

I have been looking into this. I have spoken to DMV CDL division and state police and I think you are correct. For a pintle hook to be legal in the weight range of the fifth wheel ratings it would have to connect to a drop down attachment to a fifth wheel. I think only modified commercial fifth wheels would work, not the pickup kind.

Almost looks like the video Ford had on their website. Looks great.

Does anyone know of a drop down or beaver tail from a fifth wheel to a pintle hook that is available for purchase without custom fabrication?

pookie 09-24-2007 09:44 PM

I'mnot sure that would work to be legal.

I Have A 2008 F-450 And Pull A 50 Hustler, It Seems To Pull Just Fine, But Under Powered Just A Little. I Only Have 6000 Miles On It And Have Only Pulled The Boat From Okc, Ok To Lake Of The Ozarks And Back. I Think It Would Help To Chip It. However, The Truck Seems Big Enough To Handle The Boat.

Do you have a gooseneck or tag trailer?

OSO 09-27-2007 08:21 PM

pookie, if you haven't purchased a 450 yet here is the truck for you.
