More than a couple inches of squat really changes your front end geometry. On a truck this new, I'd question the dealer first but I wouldn't tow with any light duty truck without Firestone airbags in the back. It's the cheapest and easiest thing you can do to any truck to make it more stable.

what does the nortech 4300 weigh and what do you tow it with?

pookie 09-02-2007 08:37 PM

why not airride airbags? Are those Firestone airbags the exploding kind like the tires?

Chris's set up weighs about 21,000# with fuel and gear. He has an American Tilt Trailer. Trailer weighs about #10,000. I think most vehicles labors up the mountain hills.

Do you mean Air-Lift brand? They're good too. Many folks on the board have one or the other. Both are equally good products.

Thats a lot of trailer. I'm surprised though that his 40 weighs that much.

I have Air Lift on my truck now. They seem to squeak a lot.

I meant airride.

And have towed the boat behind a bunch of different ford trucks. And never this problem. Now coming home the boat towed good with an empty tank. What could it be?

As mentioned I would check air pressure. Also as mentioned was the boat loaded the same way on the trailer as before? A couple inches forward or back can make a big difference. Another question if the height/level of your hitch when the trailer is loaded could throw things off.
