Whats the best A/T tire.
 

I need to put new tires on my Excursion, size 325-65-18 looking at the Nitto terra grapler, Toyo open country A/T, and the Mickey Thompson ATZ. I like the look of the MT ATZ but am worried about how loud it might be.

What no BFG A/T? Or don't they make them in that size? Well anyhow I loved, loved, loved my BFG's. Averaged between 60K and 80K out of them back when I was driving 50K+ a year.

i just an f-250 it has 275/65-18 goodyear at and they are terrible First snow it will have the bfg they are great

BFG All Terrain KO. They are pricey and sometimes hard to get for a reason. They are very good tires.

BFG hands down.

The bridgestone Revo's are also a good tire, but same price point BFG is my choice.

My dad likes the open country A/T's, and they last pretty long and not priced as high.

BFG or Revo's.. Had both. I drive over 70k a year, mostly loaded down or hauling a trailer. Ive always ran bigger than stock tires. I have 305's i believe now. have over 55k on these with no issues. They arent as sensitive to lack of rotation as the revo's. The Revo's started to get chunky lookin on me at about 8k miles. Ive rotated these BFG's three times in 55k miles and still running true and straight with no chunking and even wear patterns.

My money would be on the BFG a/t.

The M/T's aren't as bad as you'd think. The Toyo and Nitto can be in short supply- if you ever needed a replacement, you could wait for months- I did.

You won't do better than tha BFG. Mileage, ride, noise and grip are all better than any of the competitors.

I have had the Revos on my dullie and loved them but they don't make anything close to the size I need, I have had three trucks with the BFG on them and they are a nice street tire but they do terible off road, around here all we have is red clay mud and the do not clean out at all. I wont be off road much but when I do I dont want to be stuck. I don't think they are a very good tire when you hit standing water either, witch we have on my road all the time.

Just put on a set of Cooper Discoverer STT 35x13.50 on 18"wheels.

Made in America, Rated E, good balance and round. So far pretty damn nice. I do like BFG's but they only come in "Avon Lady" skinny widths:cool:. If they would make a 14 inch wide tire, they would own the entire 4x4 tire market.

They have the same tread design as the toyo Open Country

I had Goodyear Wrangler MT/Rs on my Jeep and loved 'em. People told me they wouldn't be good in the snow but I never had a problem. Great tire IMO.
