speedo should be same if you change to 265. 285 is width of tire. Middle number is height from wheel to tread height.

middle number is aspect ratio....ratio of height to width....in other words the amt of tire in relation to rim.

Michelin LTX M/S on my 2500

tried 285's and was a little to boaty feeling to me.

Back down to 245's and love them.

I have a set of factory take off bridgestone 773 II's mounted on new gm rims, I can sell you the rims and tires, tires only or do an exchange for your rims. Less then 10 miles on them. I live just north of green bay so an easy pickup. 245/75/16's.

I would automatically check the speedo against a GPS. On my '06 GMC when I went from stock to 285/17's it threw the speedo off by 5 mph.

Augie58, thanks for the offer, but I have that tire right now and I can't stand them. There could be a quarter of an inch of snow and they are all over the place.

Thanks
