Im not looking for so much power necessarily, I tow occasionally and was looking for better mileage towing and just normal driving conditions. Truck only has 5200 miles on it and milege for normal driving is around 13.5 mpg. I s that right. Always was a gm owner didn't know what to expect out of this truck. Thanks Mark

Much better and cheaper stuff out there....and that goes for all of the big three diesels.

Sct makes a mileage tune, tow tune, street, aggressive street, and Race tune. Street and aggressive street if you have will power and drive normal will actually get the same or better mileage than the mileage tune. I average 14.2 on my 07 dually, and its 85% city in that calculated figure at 28k miles. Whats nice is,,,you plug it in, adjust for whatever your looking for, and forget it..except when you go to the dealer. check out http://forums.thedieselstop.com/foru...oard=12&page=1 do a serch on which is the best for the Fords. Good Luck, Ive been there with 9 Super Duties since 03, your homeworks been done for u:D Ive had them all including BANKS

I had the Bully Dog 3 stage and was very happy. Kept it in the performance mode the whole time. EGTs got hot if pushed hard while towing a long steep incline. I would let off a little @1300 degrees.

Ford is very adept at determining engine damage done by controllers and all other aftermarket mods. They look very hard at all engine failures and LOVE to deny claims, leaving you to fight them on your own nickle. A rebuilt 6.0 is $13K. That eats up alot of fuel cost savings.

I'm not telling you not to do it, but you need to be aware of the potential downside.

This is very true, more so than with the GM's, but they are cracking down as well.

If you guys are doing it for mileage, just keep it stock. if you need the extra power, use the less hp applications that keep egts in check. 1350 degrees is ok but no more than 15 seconds at a time. Some stock trucks hit this towing a steep. good luck

Something is wrong if your only getting 13.5 not towing. Even with the ULS diesel and having K1 mixed I get 16-17mpg.
