I for one do buy anyone's modded junk. Rather it be a nearly new 2007 vette or an older hobby/collector car. For one.....you know the reason it was modded was to get more out of it, so it has probably been ran pretty hard which leads to problems up the road. As far as a warranty goes, with the condition it is in, it all depends on what kind of relationship you have with your dealership.....some will cover stuff, some will laugh you out the door. My ford stealership bends over backwards for me on warranty claims, always has....but I spent a ton with them as well. Mods are not bad if you know and have documentation with them, but a car like that you just don't let the average smuck tune or throw parts at it. I'd offer him about $2500 under the low retail book on it if you are going to plan on reselling it in the future.

Check out this forum. It's the OSO for Vettes.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zeroforum?id=74 Most Vette guys aren't concerned with "all original" in a C6. Early C3's (metal bumper cars) and down, yes but not late models. Also mod'd late models aren't all run hard and even if so, don't really cause any damage (run hard, not abused). I own a mod'd C5. |
Thanks again everyone; very much.
Boat deal is done, and car stayed with owner. |

Buy the Vette and DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!
I have a 2005 C-6 Lemans Z-51 Coupe, I LOVE IT! Been trouble free since day one when I picked it up at the Factory. I added a Corsa Exhaust. Good luck |
