2000 old body 4x4..is the "praise" front rotors worth it with the ceramic pads?i am moving form louisiana (flat) to the southern va , n/s carolinas and i know it is going into mountains etc and do not want to worry about going downhill with a enclosed loaded trailer behind it...and boat on the second trip moving...

or just go with a new set of GM rotors and pads?

any suggestions?

I sold my 01 with over 120k on it and I am pretty sure they were the factory pads. That has to say something about the quality and I tow the Baja at least 5 or 6k a year.

if you can afford, the oem rotors and pads are excellent IMHO.

you might want to consider new calipers and a fluid flush also

Stick with the OEM stuff

use the oem parts , flush the system and make sure the caliper pins are free and greesed

I have a '99 chevy crew cab dually. I use the ceramic pads mainly because I hate dealing with the dust. Towed the Bullet from NY-SC and back with no problems. Combined weight was over 18,000 lbs.
As a matter of fact I use ceramic pads on everything I own. Love 'em!

going to use factory rotors / pads.. will changing the front lines to braided stainless help?

replacing the flex lines on an 8 year old work truck is a good idea if you are planning on keeping it. Braided or high quality lines may help the pedal feel, oem lines are good also. I'm not sure that most people could tell the difference between new oem lines and stainless braided

I have an 03 hd and live in the north country where salted roads are king and the oem stuff lasts less than 40k miles, the rotors are crap.....the stock stuff on my 99 went over 100k, GMs stuff isnt what it used to be ....just my .02
