Putnam XDR vs. Any Other Brand

Just installed a XDR, rated at 15k, with a 2x2 receiver and only 6 bolts to the frame.
Would like to know how they can state this rating, when any other brand with that weight capacity has 8 bolts to the frame, and 2.5 in. receiver and weighs about 3x as much.

Went by my local trailer dealer and they said Putnam is just a step away from a law suite on that false claims, I bought a B&W 8" adjustable, pinnel and ball combo from them, sweet receiver, but its rated at 10k with the 2" receiver, the most they had in the 2" was a 12k setup, but I needed the adjusting and the pinnel as well.
Just looking for some facts on this stuff. My thinking is it must be the material that Putnam uses.
Thoughts??????

at the moment they can make any claims they want, there is no enforceable standardized testing.

buyer beware

Check out www.torklift.com They are the baddest made without going to a custom built hitch.

have a Curt on my F-350 w/o any problems just FYI....

The curt is only rated for 12,000 weight carrying and 14,000 weight distributing though, compared to the 15,000 carrying of the Putnam.
