Like mentioned above, even if it isn't for commerical use, if you aren't licensed to tow the amout, thats a ticket. Here in NC they register vehicles and sell plates for GVWRs. Don't worry about any hours of service for driving since its your boat and truck and being used for your use and you are not for hire.

Thanks

Isn't a 50 ft Magnum over width. If that's what you're towing you need a CDL, a semi tractor, and oversize permits to be legal, even if its yours.
|
In Florida you will need an over length permit. They are pretty sticky about enforcing that law. I think anything over 65' needs one. Some other states require it also.
|
Anyone can get an overwidth permit. If it's hauled in one state you can buy a 3 month permit, but you will need flags, an overwidth sign front and rear, and towing is restricted to certain times.

Thanks Guys, I got it figured out.
|
Make sure you check your states laws.
You guys in IL do you know you need a safty sticker for any trailer and boat combo (or any trailer) over 5000 lbs. Town of Waconda up north near the chain of lakes will tag ya in a blink of an eye and it will not be cheap. |
