Brakerite EOH users

While bleeding my just installed EOH unit, this thing is LOUD. AT 1st thinking it was air, but have gone thru 2 large fluid containers. Absolutely no air possible. While bleeding and the bleeder is open, the noise is fine. But as soon as the bleeder is closed and pressure builds up, the power unit wines like no tommorrow. When hooked up to the truck, the noise is in relation to the amount of braking force from the controller. Little force= less noise. While bleeding, I just used the breakaway switch and battery to power the unit, so full stopping force.
I think the noise is the relief valve bypassing the fluid, but damn this thing will drive everyone around me while at a stop light crazy.

Is everyones elses really loud?

I've got a brakerite EOH unit. Basically, I can hear it each time I stop (partial braking power) if my radio is off and the windows in the truck are down. Hard to hear it working otherwise. Haven't bled it yet, so nothing to compare there. It certainly wines and strains a bit overall, particularly as pressure builds.

Not sure where you're located, but I'd be more than happy to demonstrate how my setup works if you're interested. I'm in S.CA.

Hope that helps,
John

Mines pretty loud when I apply the brakes, I think it's just the nature of their desgn. Steve

There is a small whine when brake pedal engaged on my Myco, I wouldn't say it is loud.

sounds normal to me. i installed one today. switching my trailers from carlisle to brake-rite. the cost is a little more but it is a great product.

Normal.... As in a lot (5x) than a trim pump that is held on after your drive is fully extended? Or about the same? It is no doubt the relief valve making this noise as it's quiet with no back pressure.

No problem as long as you meet me here. Ha ha... :D

Yeah, your most recent description does make it sound like it is a bit too loud. I'm certain ours isn't that loud by comparison to the trim pump. Maybe talk to brakerite about replacing the relief valve / whole thing if necessary? Hope it all works out for you.

John
