door adjar light

i own a 2003 ford expedition door adjar light stays on ,witch also controls interior lights and side lights on side veiws witch also controls the anti theft alarm that wont ingage because of this problem . anybody experience this problem if so how can i fix it myself? I checked out all the doors and cant find the sensor

The sensors are on the latch mechanisms. They require door panel removal to gain axcess. Stuck door sensors are a very common problem.

Very common problem. A temporary solution that sometimes works until you can get your replacement part is to "flush" them out thourougly with WD-40, to clear any debris that may be on the track of the sensor.

The WD-40 flush worked for me. That was 50K miles ago.

Yup WD-40 the mechanism every 20,000 or so and you are good to go.

Rusty Ford door latches? Say it ain't so :)

I have replaced over 100 of those little latch switches for exactly that reason. 9 times out of 10 its the driver's door.

i've also replaced a ton of GEM modules...more so on the windstars.
