I tried somthing new. Bunk carpet is stupid expensive to recover every bunk. I bought new bunks, had the clear Doug Fir cut to length for about $100. I routered the edges to a 1/2"
radius. Went to home depot a had them cut strips of thick Indoor-Outdoor carpet. This was another $80. I glued the carpet on with polyurethane waterproof construction adhesive. Took the old bunks off and threw away. It took about 4 hrs to reinstall new. They seem to be ok so far. The wood dries quicker, no staples, seems to be staying put.. I guess we will see. |
