2500 HD Headlamps
 

Has anyone changed or replaced their headlamps in their 07/08, 2500HD? There are a couple of bolts under the hood that loosen up the head light pod, but there seems to be another hidden bolt, lower down. I'm thinking that I might have to loosen up the inner fender well to access this hidden bolt. Typical GM innovation, I could change all the bulbs on my 05 in about 10 minutes. :rolleyes:

Preliminary Procedure
Remove the upper radiator grille. Refer to Radiator Grille Replacement.
Behind the headlamp at the top of the front bumper access the lower inside hidden headlamp bolt.
Loosen the bolt only, do not remove, the lower outside hidden headlamp bolt.

Headlamp Screws (Qty: 2)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in)

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 6 N·m (53 lb in)

Headlamp Housing Support

Procedure
Apply masking tape to the front bumper end caps to protect the painted surface.
For the right side lamp assembly only, disengage the upper retainer for the radiator air baffle.
Release the headlamp from the support tab, rotate the lamp assembly towards the center of the vehicle.
Disengage the headlamp electrical connector from the forward lamp harness.
