What are you towing with. I tow boats all the time with no motors just be careful.

take a few 55 gallon drums with and fill them when you get there and drain them at home .... If your using a dually i would'nt bother ...

I've got a 07 1/2 ton z71 crew cab. The GCWR limits the trailer weight to around 7000lbs. I keep the boat less than one mile from the ramp and I never travel with it. The boat weighs 7000lbs dry. I know that with a full tank and passenger I've overloaded the truck and I'm asking for trouble. BUT, now that the engines are out (454's) I estimate that almost 1800lbs have been removed and I should be OK, or not.......thats what I'm here for so go ahead and lay it on me. I have towed it a short distance without the engines and the back end wasn't sagging.

You can always scoot it back on the trailer. That's what we did on 38TG we hauled from VA to OK with no motors.

its only 28feet, whats the big deal. just hook up and tow, years ago people towed 40 footers around miami with an half ton. just take your time and respect your traffic ahead of you.

Have you hooked it up yet? Look at where the CG is on the trailer compared to how far out the tongue is. Taking the motors out doesn't automatically add that weight at the receiver.
You can add helper springs to the truck if it's really sagging. Or try and move the boat back. I also agree with the suggestion to adjust the receiver height so the trailer is level. On a long tow, the extra load on the front tires would almost guarantee a blowout.
