6.0 ford f 250 130k it suck big time!!!!!!!!!! in the shop again this time turbo, fule pump egr cooler
7.3 ford f 250 250k still running
chevy1500 327 gas motor 325k never been to the shop
chevy 1500 hd 366 175 k never been in the shop

buying a new truck soon, it will be a 2500 hd chevy gas motor.
you could replace the motor @ 200k and still be cheper than a durmax .

That is a good company man response...... What about the brand new F450 you sold to a friend in the car business in FL that died roadside multiple times in the first month?

You and Ford did the right thing for sure by replacing it with a new F450 for the owner but "not seen many issues may be a little understated".......

Got 4 GMC's (3 gas, 1 diesel)....oldest is 01 newest is 05. 325K miles between all. Diesel ate a waterpump, the rest has been batteries, tires, two sets of brakes total. Two trucks needed a/c switches (a/c still worked but wouldn't change speeds, so for $125 I had them replaced)......

the problem that happened was they went and changed the tranny mod it is on a factory recall and when we left the dealer the tranny locked up twice didnt even make it to the street , they pulled the tranny pan to find metal pices in it , so my new truck as of a week sunday has been in shop , kinda made up my mind to keep the 2001 with the 7.3 for a back up , never had a problem with that 145.000 miles on it

Excellent choice.:drink:

And I agree on the gasser rather than the D-max, unless you really tow heavy and often, it's not needed and will never pay back the extra cost with "fuel milage gains".

We traded him out of that truck with less than 200 miles. The motor was bad. Ford replaced it and it hasn't been back since. It did not die roadside multiple times in the first month. More like first day. Other than that, we haven't had many issues with the 6.4. That was the first 08 we sold with the 6.4 almost two years ago. In MY OPINION, they are a very good motor and truck.

Also, the car dealer in Fl that had the problem was in a brand new F350. We, NOT FORD, took it back and ordered him a F450. He loved the F450. I know you are thinking how can a truck that was sold in NC to a guy in Florida only have 200 miles. Answer: He had it shipped to him.
