towing with 1990 chevy

Looking for input on towing 32 Baja Caliber about 3-5 miles with a 90 Chevy k1500 5.7L 3.73 rear end 10,000# cap, 1000# tongue wt drop step bumper Do?, Don't?, It will be allright?

I agree, 5 miles shouldn't be a problem. Just take your time.

Kinda depends on what you'll be presented with in terms of topography. From where I live to where I store my boat/to where the launch ramp is, is right around 5mi +/-, but full of very steep hills......ups and downs. I wouldn't even consider using my '00 4WD Chevy 1500 w/ tow package to tow my 30' Formula.

If everything was dead flat I would maybe consider it, but still doubtful.

Tow in 3rd gear- not drive if you have an automatic. The OD gear in these trucks are not meant for that load. If you have a manual trans stick to 4th agin not the OD gear.

You are at the capacity of that truck.

You talking about towing with the bumper or the trailer hitch?? If with the bumper it better be a strong after market attached to the frame real well!!
