New tow rig for the MTI

Made a deal on a new tow rig for the dinghy a while back, looks like all is set will pick it up in a couple weeks...

Did not want to abuse the goodwill of my buddy who lent me the TopKick.

pookie 06-02-2009 08:28 AM

Had a GMC 3500 Dually to pull the Cig back when I had it. Kept going into limp mode... Like two others I have had....

Good thing you don't live in Texas with that much black. What motor and rear end gears?

aTX427 06-03-2009 06:45 PM

Nice rig. Who's headlight replacement kit is that. I changed out to the best Sylvania bulbs I could find and they still suck. You should really think about stepping up to a Super Titan 4000 Weld-On 25K Trailer Hitch.

Don't mess around with the lame standard bulbs. Get a set of 6000k 55w HID's and be done with it. You will never have a problem with lack of light.

Best $200 yet.

C7 is 300/860 unless it was bumped to 330/960 with a programmer.

Does it seem like enough power with a heavy load?

I'm gonna guess his rig weighs about 11,000lbs. That's nothing for even a stock Cat C7 motor.

GL that 650 is SWEET!!
But I am courious what you thought about the Top Kick ride. Have been looking at a couple. And the one you used, did it have air ride?

Q

JPD Motorsports 07-01-2009 11:40 AM

Quinlan. the topkick I had was 4x4 monroe pickup and springed rears. road like crap. got rid of it with 16k on it and got it new with 54miles on it. fuel mileage was around 10-12 loaded or empty but this was 4x4. The aircab, air susp ride nicely but is the only way I would go back to a 4500 series

Same as JPD said above. Very rough ride . F650 is a much smoother ride.
